"Sizing Up The Distance" is the new CD from indie/electro/popster's and Chicagoans Helicopters. Think Postal Service beats updated with a little 2009 polish. Helicopters make you move whether it's a slow groove or up-tempo Hot Chip floor gem. The band has ideas that start simple but after the drum-machine sounds mix with guitars and Death Cab For Cutie type voclas, the layers dart for the professional sound of an act with several releases. The great part is the over-producing stays home and what we get is indie-fresh pleasure play after play.
